GNDR 103

Spring 2004

March 23 and March 25

Based on your reading, write some brief answers to the questions that I posed before break:

  1. What does “queerly raised” mean?
  2. What would average public schools need to do to create a positive environment for queerly raised children?
  3. What obstacles exist to creating such an environment?

After watching It’s Elementary, consider the following:

  1. How does the film add to the reading that we have done?
  2. Did you ever have any classes in your schooling like the ones in the film?
  3. Did you observe homophobia regularly in your school?  Provide some examples.
