Why we request funding

Due to an unfortunate misunderstanding, the funds we expected to receive this year (1999-2000) have fallen through. However, our group of eight students has spent the past six months diligently researching internship opportunities in the Balkans, and does not wish to give up on the chance to make the trip this year.

What we need…

This is a tally of our annual costs for five St. Lawrence Students to have the Balkan experience.

Airfare: $850 each - total $2,550.
Living Costs: $1,000 each - total $5,000.
Emergency Fund: $2,000

Total: $10,000

As members of the BHP, we are dedicated to providing relief and assistance for the victims of violence that has occurred in the Balkans. We are also interested in learning more about the incredibly diverse set of cultures and the fascinating history of this region. We are determined to make our plans for this summer work despite the unfortunate loss of expected funding. Any donation your department or organization could make this year or any year to come would be greatly appreciated.
