The historical topics on Russia are arranged roughly chronologically, with emphasis on current life in Russia at the beginning and at the end of the course. Topics marked "Net" refer to the technical or practical topic for the day. Other activities for the day (such as video presentations) are also marked. Both reading and web assignments are also given for each day and are due on the day listed. The web links that you are required to explore are marked with a * ; the others are optional - as time and interest dictates. Several additional class meetings will be arranged each month for workshops, group projects, meeting guests, viewing films.
