Things were going well, but when one thing goes up, something else must go down, and in this instance it was the economic market that was being depressed. Therefore the Railway Fund was established in 1867, in order to lessen the force of the economic depression. There was not enough money for the railroads to be funded by private companies, thus the government stepped in to build the railroads. This provided the people and troops with transportation and therefore increased the amount of people in the working market, which then increased the market economy of the country. This construction ended up being a bigger monetary commitment than the government was able to undertake at the time. The treasury was not able to handle it. This caused the market to become depressed with so much money leaving to fund the railroads.
Transtelesat....
Railroads have continued to be built and used for centuries now, but every year they become more high-tech and advanced than the year before. One of the new advancements is a system called Transtelesat, which is based out of St. Petersburg Teleport. It is a unified telecommunication system that will allow the trains to run more smoothly and efficiently. There will be 20 hub stations at the junctions of major railroads and ports throughout the country, along with 100 subscriber terminals installed at smaller railroad stations. Some of the goals will be to offer connections even to remote locations to connect all the major railroads and ports, and to provide back up for the principal trunk network that they have now in case it has troubles. It will be a big step, and another attempt to connect Russia as the railroads did in the past. Hopefully it will be as successful as the railroads were once before.

The railroad system has helped to facilitate Russia on its journey to become a world super-power. This just shows that with a country large enough to cover one-sixth of the globe, that something powerful and important is needed. Russia has come a long way, from having to use unreliable seasonal transportation, to railroads that cover most of the country and Transtelesat that will cover the rest. Hopefully this new technology will continue to help Russia progress.
