THE LIFE OF ABRAHAM PETROVICH HANNIBAL...

1. Abraham Petrovich Hannibal, 1698-1781, was the godson of Peter the Great of Russia. He also has the claim of being the great-grandfather of the literary icon of Russia, Alexander Pushkin. His beginning started with him being born a prince in Eritrea. When he was a small boy, he was captured by invaders.

2. He became Peter's favorite. After seeing of his talents, Peter brought Abraham along on his adventures as apart of his entourage. Abraham was soon sent off to the west to be educated.

3. The military career of Abraham was long and prosperous. His status went all the way up to Major-General in the army of Russia.

4. Abraham, in his early years, had lovers and then later, two wives.

5. Abraham's life ended peacefully. His sons continued his military ambitions.

6. Abraham's great-grandson, Alexander Pushkin, wrote a story on him. Others also had their opinions.
