The youngest child was Aleksey who was born on July 30, 1904 at Peterhof. He was the long awaited heir to the thrown and his parents often called him "Baby". Unfortunately he was born with hemophilia passed down from Queen Victoria on his mother's side. Aleksey had dark blond hair and blue eyes; he was very close with Anastasia. It was said that they had a sort of sixth sense between each other and could feel what the other was thinking. Anastasia was sometimes the only person who could make Aleksey forget about his pain with her jokes and funny stories.
