- In 1931 St. Isaac's was transformed into a museum

Kamenshchikov proved Nicolaus Copernicus' theorem concerning the rotation
of the Earth within the cathedral
- Being one of the highest points in St. Petersburg, the church
was often under heavy artillery from the Nazis attacks and the museum was
shut down
- Also, a lot of the church's artwork was destroyed
