Conclusion
This brief overview of the Age of Enlightenment in Russia has tried to show the
effects of a social revolution not only on the bourgeois, or the nation as a who
le, but on the specific social groups in Russia. Undoubtedly, the modernizing o
f Russia brought about many benefits to the scientific and intellectual communit
y, as well as the aristocracy, who reaped the benefits of new wealth and novelti
es. However, this also attempts to paint a picture of the soul of the Russian p
eople of the time. Even through all the hardship, the Russian people, have main
tained their rich cultures, kept their staunch spirit, which is what makes Russi
a what it is. On one hand, we have the opulence and grandeur of St. Petersburg,
and on another, we have Holy Moscow, emanating with power. But underlying all
of that, the mechanics which work the whole, are the Russian people whose unyiel
ding spirit will not be denied.
