ACA (American Canoe Association). Their mission is "to promote the health, social and personal benefits of canoeing, kayaking and rafting and to serve the needs of all paddlers for safe, enjoyable and quality paddling opportunities." Conservation publications, issues, events, safety and instruction, etc.: it is all there, including a link to their publication: Paddler Magazine.

The Wooden Canoe Heritage Association, Ltd.. This group is centered in Blue Mountain Lake, NY. It is "devoted to preserving, studying, building, restoring, and using wood, wood-canvas, cedar strip and birchbark canoes, and to disseminating information about canoeing heritage in North America." Includes a link to their publication the Wooden Canoe Journal where you can read articles from some of the journal volumes.

Ontario Canoe Sailing Association. Website for a small group of canoe sailors from Ontario dedicated to the revival and advancement of the sport of Canoe Sailing. Some pictures of past "Paddler's Rendezvous."

ADK (Adirondack Mountain Club). Conservation and advocacy group dedicated to preserving the Adirondacks for use by outdoor enthusiasts--current and next generation.

DEC (New York State Department of Environmental Conservation). Learn from the state government about efforts to maintain the Adirondack Park. Includes a nice interactive map.

American Whitewater Association. Home page. American Whitewater's mission is to conserve and restore America's whitewater resources and to enhance opportunities to enjoy them safely. Includes links to (Sept/Oct. 2000) articles in their journal.
