Around twenty current and former SLU students, associated friends and family, and SLU faculty joined thousands of other protestors in Washington, DC on January 20, 2001 to protest George Bush's presidential junta. The Progressive Larries participated in a demonstration in Liberty Circle, before marching towards the parade route that "President" Bush would follow to the White House. During the march towards the parade route, hundreds of police penned protestors in for nearly half an hour, only leaving once Bush's inauguration was official. The Progressive Larries then continued along to the Parade Route, where they witnessed the spectacle accompanying the official death of American democracy.
