Tubular bulb, with 2–m stick.

Use an old lab stool to hold variac.

Align meter sticks on floor in
line with bulb

Secure meter sticks with masking tape
every 0.5 m.

Note that meter sticks start directly
under the bulb, not at the wall!
Mark distance on masking tape
(work boots optional)

Place two 2–m meter sticks and
2x2 diffraction gratings on bench.
