Dr. Bos' Problem:

Some unit cubes are assembled to form a larger cube. Then, some, but not all, of the faces of the larger cube are painted. After the paint has dried, the large cube is disassembled and it is discovered that 218 of the unit cubes have some paint on them. What was the size of the large cube?
