The Architecture of Capital

Boeing's artful imagery of the city of the near future. The mixing of elements is suggestive of a postmodern motif. The landscape itself captures the movement of data at blurring speeds. The metaphor of the highway transit flows defined by light beams is used repeatedly in these ads to signify the electronic movement of information. Here is the landscape for the Information Age - postmodern citadels of corporate culture presiding over a smoothly functioning society -- so smooth, it actually whizzes along without any apparent need for external intervention. The flow of reddish color can also conjure up the imagery of blood coursing through the body system, keeping it alive, healthy and functioning.
