Structural Frames

Stamped with the GE logo this shot completes a montage of global images: Kenyan runners, an Asian rice farmer, an Italian cardinal, a Chinese student, African school children, a Greek Orthodox priest, etc. On the screen key words flash: communications, power, medical, lighting, transportation, capital, and plastics. These are the products that GE supplies to the world. The images of tradition are plastered with the language of modernity. The upbeat music cements the mix eliminating critical ground. While the GE logo and slogan shares the frame with this low angle heroic shot of Bedouin crossing the Sahara at dusk, there is no apparent relationship between this corporation and these people.
