We will be spending several hours in the museum. Some of the permanent attractions you may wish to enjoy are dinosaurs, endangered species, or space exploration. The special exhibit examines Spiders. “Scientists estimate that there may be as many as 170,000 species of spiders on our planet”(Seivert, 1997). This exhibit will focus on the world from the point of the view of the spider. Learn about spinning webs and spider mating habits. Also be sure to check out the Tibetan Sand Mandala. This sand painting is one of three in the world, and the only sand painting in the United States.
Adjacent to the museum is the Tifft Nature Preserve. This preserve protects 264 acres of natural habitat within the Buffalo city boundary. There are 5 miles of nature trails to explore and a 75 acre cattail marsh.
