St. Lawrence University Geology Club

Field Trips

Since St.Lawrence is located an hour outside of the the Adirondack park, we are in a geologically diverse area and use this to our advantage through day hikes and outings. We sponsor two big field trips, one each semester. The fall field trip is to Vermont where the Taconic Orogeny is studied by visiting outcrops in So. Hero VT, The Lake Champlain Thrust fault, Fort Crown Point NY and others. The spring field trip changes from year to year.
