Robert Menard is the recipient of the WA Tarr Award.
The award was presented at Moving Up Day on April 28, 2007.
This award is presented by Sigma Gamma Epsilon to recognize scholarship
in the Earth Sciences. However, personality, leadership,
contribution to the school, ability to get along with people are worthy
of consideration as well (according to SGE).
Rob just finished his senior thesis with Mark Erickson titled
"Postglacial drainage evolution of the Oswegatchie, Grass, Raquette and
St. Regis Rivers, St. Lawrence County, New York." He will be
attending SUNY Binghamton in a PhD program next year in
Geomorphology. His field work was supported by a Baker Summer
Fellowship last summer at SLU.
