David M. Baker '08

David Baker
is a W. A. Tarr Award winner and
member of Eta Xi Chapter of Sigma Gamma Epsilon - Earth Science Honor
Society, and Phi Beta Kappa. His senior honors thesis entitled
"Morphological Analyses of Mesas and
Knobs in the Northwest Fretted
Terrain: Deuteronilus Mensae Region, Mars" was supervised by
Alexander
Stewart and grew out of a summer research internship under Dr. Jim Head
at Brown University. David will continue to pursue his interests
in Planetary Geology next year at Brown University. David
will also be participating in the Lunar and Planetary Institute's
intern program in
Houston this summer. It's a ten-week program where he will be
working with Dorothy Oehler and Carlton Allen of
NASA-Johnson Space Center, and searching for evidence for hydrothermal
springs on the surface of Mars using the remarkable CTX and HiRISE
imagery.
