SLU Geology Reunion Party at GSA Sunday, October 5th 7:30-10pm Hilton Americas Houston Room 329 GSA in Houston October 5-9, 2008 You do not need to be registered for the GSA meeting nor be staying at the hotel in order to attend as this is a private reception in the hotel.  All Geo alumni and friends/family are welcome

Baker receives Trustees Award for Highest GPA Added October 15, 2007 Maureen Jones '97 has been nominated for a UST Environmental Excellence Award as noted in UST NEWS  published by South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.  Her "nomination recognizes the superb effort she has made to help Worsley Companies get on top of the compliance curve." Added October 22, 2007 Chris Stevens '04 has received a Student Award from the Geological Association of Canada and Canadian Geophysical Union for an "Outstanding Student Presentation on a Geophysical Topic" at the GAC-MAC Yellowknife 2007 meeting. Added August 27, 2007 Jeff Chiarenzelli '81 has been awarded a $55,000 grant by the American Chemical Society's Petroleum Research Fund to study the geochemistry and texture of Precambrian sedimentary rocks that may one day serve as new sources of energy. source: SLU Press Release Added September 20, 2007 Alice Quakenbush, Mark Erickson, and Sarah McElfresh '98 receive the W.T. Urling and Mabel Walker Fellowship Program for North Country-based research projects.
