From Jefferson to Clinton, the Democratic party has been the driving force behind multiple forms of progress in the United States, including responsible foreign policy, proven economic prowess, and the ever-important task of balancing civil liberties with national security. The St. Lawrence University Democrats proudly represent the Democratic Party on campus. The purpose of the SLU Democrats Organization is to advance Democratic Party ideals on campus, as well as at the local, county, state and national levels. We participate in a number of events throughout the calendar year, from campaigning to bringing speakers to campus. Meetings are every Monday night at 6:00pm in Sykes Formal Lounge. It is open to any member of the campus community. See you there!

Elections are Over! (December 12, 2005 @ 15:18 EST, Kirk Donovan)
The elections for officers are over and four new members of the executive board were picked! The next president will be Kirk Donovan '08, Vice President will be Jana Morgan '07, Secretary will be Michael Crankshaw-Bierce '09, and Treasurer will be Justin Newcom '09. Their term will last from January 2006-December 2006.

I've updated the site with a few new pictures. Check that out in the Photo Gallery! Also, we've decided on the date of the first meeting. It's going to be Monday, August 29th at 6:00. Mark your calendars!

I've redesigned the SLU Democrats site. Hopefully it will be easier to get around now. I'm hoping to update it a bit more regularly now...stay tuned for more. If you're in the class of 2009, I encourage you to check out the huge "Welcome First Years!" box above. Many, many Laurentians are involved in politics in one way or another on campus. If you're interested in becoming part of the SLU Democrats, come to the first meeting in the fall.
