The Beta Beta Beta
Outstanding Senior Award - is given to a graduating biology
major having outstanding achievements in acadmeics, research,
and departmental service. Along with the recognition of being
the outstanding biology major for the graduating class, the award
also provides a one year subscription to the journal Science.
The name of the award winner is added to an engraved plaque posted
outside of the biology department office. Click here to list

The Edward and Gertrude
Warner Award - is given to a promising biology major, preferably
in, but not limited to, the field of pre-medicine or pre-dentistry.
The recipient(s) of the award are selected by the biology department
at its discretion using criteria such as personality, initiative
and academic ability. The award is used to help defray the costs
of applying to medical or dental school.
Lola D. and Bernard
R. Norris Prize - is a monetary prize given to a senior who
meets the requirements of need and merit and who will be entering
medical school after graduating from St. Lawrence. This fund was
created by Evan Norris, MD '62 and Jay Norris, MD '59 in honor of
their parents, Lola D. and Bernard R. Norris.
The Dr. F. W. Delmage
Pre-medical Prize - is presented to the senior who is a top
pre-medical student and has been accepted at an accredited medical
school. Dr. Delmage was a distinguished North Country physician,
and the Dr. Tom Dooley medal, honoring another distinguished physician,
is given in his memory by the members of the Delmage family.
The Crowell Summer
Scholarship in Field Biology - is given to support
field research in ecology, environmental science, and other natural
history disciplines that are carried out at a field station. The
scholarship is given on the basis of need, ability, and character.
The scholarship recognizes Robert L. Crowell, former head of the
Thomas Y. Crowell Publishing Company and his interest in Natural
